The History of Palo Cedro and Its Beekeeping Industry describes the origins of a small town in Northern California and the pioneering efforts of an apiarist named Homer Park to establish a commercial beekeeping industry in his hometown.  It chronicles the arrival of honey bees in colonial North America in 1622, their movement across the United States, their journey aboard ships to reach California in 1853, their appearance in Shasta County, the founding of a town called Palo Cedro, and the birth and life of a man named Homer Park who as a boy was fascinated with bees.  This fascination put him on a trajectory to become a Master Beekeeper and a world-renowned expert on rearing and raising Italian queen bees.
